The 8th Teaching Contest for College Young Teachers in Hubei Province has recently come to an end and the ZUEL has achieved the best result in history. Lu Qing, a young faculty from the SBA, participated in the contest on behalf of the ZUEL and finally won the second prize in the literature & history group.
The Teaching Contest for College Young Teachers in Hubei Province, hosted by the Hubei Federation of Trade Unions and the Hubei Educational, Scientific, Cultural, Health and Sports Trade Union every two years, is the largest and highest contest for teachers’ skills held by the trade unions in Hubei education system. Launched in April 2022, the contest was organized by a task force of the ZUEL, which comprehensively coordinated and guided the contest of each school. Since April, the leaders of the SBA have paid great attention to the contest. Wang Hualu, Secretary of the Party Committee of the SBA, and Qian Xuefeng, Dean of the SBA, gave full encouragement and support. Hu Chuan, Associate Dean of the SBA, took the lead to set up a mutual-support group for the contest. Li Fang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, offered help in every detail. Zhao Chen Hui, Chair of the Department of Human Resources Management, was responsible for communication and coordination, and set up a detailed plan for Teacher Lu Qing with the efforts of the SBA. As a Chinese saying goes, one minute on stage takes ten years of practice off stage. During more than three months, Teacher Lu Qing prepared carefully for the contest from the design of teaching plan and the connotation of teaching content to the interaction of on-site teaching under the guidance of the ZUEL and the SBA. Finally, he presented a wonderful human resource management course for the judges and experts in the contest.
In line with the purpose of “promoting teaching by contest”, the SBA adheres to holding regular teaching and research activities for young teachers, and organizes a lecture contest for young teachers every two years. At the beginning of this year, the SBA held the first teaching contest of ideological and political courses, which effectively improved teachers’ teaching ability. The excellent results that the SBA has achieved in this provincial contest fully demonstrate the solid teaching skills and positive spirit of young teachers, owing to that the School has attached great importance to the training and teaching of young teachers over the years. At the same time, the contest will also further promote the teaching reform of the SBA, stimulate the enthusiasm of young teachers in teaching research and teaching reform, and improve the quality of talent training of the SBA, thus contributing to the “double first-class” construction of ZUEL.
